I'm fluffy!

I'm proud of my fluffy badge.


I've stuck it on my jacket, worn it to interviews, around town and to the Meteor Awards, where I think I scared Rick O' Shea ever so slightly...

He put it as

Weird the way a fluffy badge becomes akin to a masonic handshake even in the impossibly surreal surroundings of Krystle nightclub…

I'm now looking forward to swanning around at the Blog Awards with all the amazing people there, proudly displaying it..!

I got the book, so kindly go away

I know I don't write enough. I'm a lurker, occasional commenter, fluffy badge owner and sometimes argumentative type but I don't sit down to blog often enough.

Things keep getting in the way. Welcome distractions like other, much better bloggers, state-of-the-nation stuff and now Twenty Major's new book, The Order of the Phoenix Park.

So Jaffa Cakes, a good cuppa tea and this book becomes my afternoon - everything and one else can wait.

I bought it today in Borders in Blanchardstown for €10.45. I may have gotten the only copy on display, the "find a book" computer read that it wasn't in stock... but a quick look in general fiction and now it's mine, all mine!


So there you go, Twenty, good sir! I hope the pints were good. I'll let you know if (that!) the book is!

The future of laptop designs?

Name: Mandy
How often do you use a computer? Five times a week.
What do you like to do when you’re using a computer? Play games and write stories and poems.

What will computers look like in the future? Well you see, if we had whole days to work on it, and bigger paper, I think we could make it way more detailed.

Mandy's laptop design (from The Laptop Club, all rights reserved) is cool. I especially love the HP trivia button. I love the fact she wants to blog about her interview. I also love the fact that Mandy is only 8.

From this article comes the story of the laptops designed by kids aged between 7 and 9.

Even with relatively little exposure to computers, these children have absorbed ideas about shopping online, interacting socially with virtual pets and real friends, and even media convergence with their favorite movies and songs loaded on the laptops.

Just back from Spain

After a hiatus abroad where I took some time away from the "interweb" to work on the "internet", I'm back in Dublin.


I'm looking forward to educating myself and exploring the web again.

It's the little things like this video that innocent drinks posted that can turn a day around...

I'm a self confessed innocent smoothies addict. I read their blog, get their newsletter and drink their drinks. I could have done with one today (no time) but they posted this today in their daily thoughts and it's almost as good (in a virtual kind of way).



Can't help but wonder if it would work in Dublin though? Would (could) you dare??

Bebo and Twitter taking over my life...

I read today in the ever informative Silicon Republic that Bebo is going mobile.

Between them and Twitter, pretty soon only "I couldn't get online" will be my only excuse for not knowing what my (online) friends are up to...
